Volunteers Needed: Overflow Shelter Opens December 1

Just as we have received God’s love in beautiful and transformative ways, we are then entrusted with the holy responsibility of sharing that love with others. The Overflow Shelter provides an incredible opportunity to know and love our neighbors in an easy, accessible, and tangible way. Would you please join us? Come as we open Augsburg’s Overflow Shelter site for another season beginning December 1st.

We have many spots to fill:

Dinner

Provide an entree, side dishes, drink, and dessert for 30 people. Remember to bring plates, napkins and flatware. This is more fun as a team!

Partial Overnight (Sunday-Thursday)

Overnight volunteer should arrive by 7:30 PM and will assist with check-in once guests arrive. This volunteer will remain awake and may leave at 12:30 AM.

Overnight (Friday & Saturday)

These volunteers take a part of the overnight shift help with any guest needs and to provide a sense of security while they sleep.

Check-In

These volunteers prepare for check-in by preparing coffee, pulling bins and laying out mats.

Goodie Bags

Drop off bags for 23 guests with items such as a sandwich, chips, a small sweet snack, fresh fruit, soft granola bar, bottle of water.
