Bury the Alleluias

Children Bury the Alleluias to understand Lent

The season of Lent is a dark and solemn time in our church year. We put aside the celebration and excitement to allow us time to spend reflecting in the quiet, much like Jesus did during his 40 days in the wilderness. During worship, the most noticeable change is within our liturgy, where Alleluias are no longer found. To help the youngest disciples of our church have a better understanding of this time, we have incorporated a tangible laying to rest of the Alleluia during our Lenten fair. Our physical Alleluia and liturgical Alleluias will triumphantly return on Easter Sunday with the rest of the celebration!
