About: Committees: Worship and Music
The Worship and Music Committee meets regularly to discuss and decide, sometimes with the Congregation Council, matters involving worship, liturgy, music, church festivals, special events and lay participation in liturgy.

Choirs at Augsburg:
- 2 Adult Choirs
- 3 Youth Choirs
Choir ministry plays an important role in our worship life. Hymns, canticles, psalms, and anthems - all are part of the music these folks prepare and sing each week. And throughout the year special services give the choirs opportunities for longer and more involved pieces. All Saints, Advent, Christmas, Easter, and Pentecost, and our "With Hearts and Hands and Voices" festival are all highlights on our calendar.
The Augsburg Singers just completed a trip to Columbia, South Carolina, to sing at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in February 2007.
All members of Augsburg Church are welcome to make this ministry a part of their weekly activities. Auditions aren't required, only a love of singing and a willingness to work hard. The schedule of rehearsals is listed below. Prayerfully consider something to which you are called.
Young Children's Choir: rehearses each Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. This is the choir for our youngest choristers (K-2), and is directed by Mary Armitage. The children learn what choir is, learn how to sing, how to use music, how to act in church when sitting as a choir, and learn more about worship.
Jubilate Singers: rehearses each Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. This is the choir for older children (grades 3-5), and is directed by Kathryn Jacobs. This choir fully develops their singing skills, learns more about reading music, about leading worship, about singing the liturgy, and plays an active role in the worshiping life of the church.
Augsburg Singers: rehearses each Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. This is the choir for the youth of our church and is directed by Cantor Donald L. Armitage. The newest of our choirs, this ensemble continues the development of skills in choral singing, music reading, use of the hymnals, and worship leadership. Some members are part of the team of liturgists who help lead worship each week.
Adult Choir (First Service): rehearses each Thursday 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This choir sings at the early service each Sunday morning and at special services throughout the year.
Adult Choir (Second Service): rehearses each Wednesday 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. This choir sings at the later service each Sunday morning and at special services throughout the year.
