About: Committees: Evangelism
The mission of the Evangelism Committee is to reach people both inside and outside Augsburg with the Gospel and, to assist them in deepening their spiritual life through programs and activities.
Committee Leadership:

Helen Carlton, Vice Chair
New Member Ministry
Pastor Rinn, our Senior Pastor, conducts a six-week Inquirer’s Class for prospective members approximately three times a year.
We match new members with existing members acting as shepherds into the life of the Church.
College Ministry
We reach out to Salem College and North Carolina School of the Arts students by providing transportation to worship.
We offer host families for students.
WELCOME!
We want all people to feel welcome and to become an integral part of the church family.
Future Ministry
The current downtown residential development activity will give us new outreach opportunities.
Evangelism Committee
Committee Responsibility: To take the lead in welcoming visitors and new members to Augsburg Lutheran Church by providing Sunday greeters, delivering fresh bread and church literature to 1st time visitors and hosting a welcoming breakfast for new members and assigning them “shepherds” to help assimilate them into the congregational life. To provide publicity about Augsburg Lutheran Church by means of the church website, newspaper and phone book advertising, improved signage and timely updating of the church’s pictorial directory.

Normal Meeting Date: Third Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Covenant classroom.
The Evangelism Committee has recently completed photos for a new pictorial directory.
*A particular need at this time is for church members who would be able to give some NC School of the Arts students a ride to the 11:00 worship service on Sundays. If we could get several people on an active list, we could rotate the responsibility. Please contact the church office if you could help with this.
